My family came to Carroll County in 1810, and my family live there today. I have four brothers and two sisters. We have been farming for six generations.
My soul mate and husband moved from Jackson Township, Stark County to Lawrence Township,Tuscarawas County in 1968 after his honorable discharge from the Navy. I moved from PlainTownship, Stark County to Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas County in 1979. We lived on Township Road 422 until we moved to Township Road 379 in 2005.
I graduated from Carrollton High School, Canton Actual Business School, and from the Timken Company apprenticeship program.
I attended Elkhart Institute of Technology, Cleveland Institute of Technology, Indiana State, and Kent State.
I hold a degree in bookkeeping and have an associate degree in mechanical engineering.
I retired from the Timken Company with thirty-six years as a machinist.
My passions in life are Gelbvieh cattle, education, and recycling (we produce less than one bag ofgarbage per month).
I’m active in the community as a volunteer at Hennis Care, 4-H, Board of Elections and my church.
My causes are Farm Land and Wildlife Preservation, Fibromyalgia, RelayforLife,
Breast Cancer Awareness, Cystic Fibrosis, and MS.
I am associated with American Gelbvieh Association (1987 - present), Ohio Valley Gelbvieh Association (Sec/Tres 1984-1999 and President 2011), Ohio Cattlemen’s (Gelbvieh breed representative), BNI, CBA, Friends of Ft Laurens, and Bolivar Ohio Main Street Renaissance Association.
